At the end of last year I did a post about Ivo Gormley’s seminal film, Us Now.  The film had such an impact that since then (as promised) FutureGov has been working with Ivo to screen the film both in the UK and further afield.  The reaction at these screenings was so positive that we’re working with Ivo to launch the film online in association with the British Council think tank Counterpoint.

The launch will be on the 12 May at an event that brings together eminent sociologist Richard Sennett, Minister for Transformational Government Tom Watson and Catherine Fieschi, Director of Counterpoint, to discuss the theory and practice of transforming governments through participation. We are also looking to provide a live web link to a parallel event in the USA at The Kennedy School of Government, Harvard.  The events will be broadcast live online (4pm UK time, 11am US east coast time) and from 12 May onwards the full film will be available to stream online on the film’s site.

In case you’ve missed the well-deserved buzz about Us Now, the film tells the stories of online networks that are challenging the existing notion of hierarchy. For the first time, it brings together the fore-most thinkers in the field of participative governance to describe the future of government.  FutureGov is proud to be coordinating the launch of the film so that audiences across the world are inspired to act.

Tickets to the launch event are extremely limited so if you’re interested in attending and/or sponsoring the event or site where the film will be hosted, get in touch at dominic [dot] campbell [at] futuregovconsultancy [dot] com.

See you there!
